An inhibitor is a substance that slows down or completely stops a chemical reaction.
In heating systems, inhibitors are used to protect equipment and pipelines from damage caused by:
- Corrosion – the inhibitor forms a protective film on metal surfaces, preventing oxygen and water from reacting with the metal.
- Limescale formation – certain inhibitors reduce mineral precipitation that can clog pipes and lower system efficiency.
- Bacterial and algal growth – in closed or hard-to-reach systems, biocides can be used to prevent the development of microorganisms.
Regular use of inhibitors extends the lifespan of the heating system, improves efficiency, and reduces maintenance costs.

Application:
- binds the dissolved oxygen up to 0,5 mg/l;
- supports the solubility of salts at a maximum level, prevents deposits;
- acts as dispersant;
- promotes formation of magnetite film.
The amount of the reagent depends on the water quality.
