Compact hollow-fiber UF module with six fiber bundles hermetically potted in the header (epoxy potting). Operating mode — outside-in flow (outside → inside), ensuring removal of turbidity and microorganisms at low pressure.
- Filtration mechanism: hollow-fiber membrane, outside-in flow (outside → inside)
- Pore size (nominal): ~0.02 µm (range 0.01–0.03 µm depending on variant)
- Membrane material: PVDF/PES (hydrophilic), food-grade
- Design flux: 40–120 LMH; nominally up to ~5 m³/h with clean feed and proper pretreatment
- Transmembrane pressure (TMP): typically 0.1–0.2 MPa; max 0.3 MPa
- Operating temperature: 5–40 °C (short-term up to 45 °C)
- pH range: in operation 2–11; for cleaning (short-term) 1–13
- Chlorine tolerance: short-term NaOCl per manufacturer guidelines; continuous <1 mg/L
- Post-UF quality: NTU < 0.1; SDI(15) < 1
- Cleaning: periodic backwash (water/air) and chemical cleaning (e.g., citric acid/NaOCl)
Note: UF does not remove dissolved substances; desalination is performed by RO.
