In Latvia, the quality of pool and sauna water is regulated by Cabinet Regulation No. 470 "Hygiene Requirements for Pool and Sauna Services."
These regulations establish hygiene requirements for high-risk entities that offer pool or sauna services, either as a primary service or as an additional service. This includes institutions such as educational facilities, social care institutions, healthcare facilities, sports, entertainment or leisure venues, and hotels. The regulations also outline the principles for establishing, testing, and controlling pool water quality standards. The main quality indicators that must be maintained in pools are microbiological contamination (number of coliform bacteria, E. coli count, P. aeruginosa count, number of helminths) and the concentration of ammonium ions.
To maintain the necessary microbiological quality indicators and appropriate ammonium concentration in pool water, disinfection equipment and filters for reducing ammonium ion concentration (CMA MultiMix, reverse osmosis systems, softening equipment) must be provided.
When choosing the most suitable water treatment system for your pool water, we recommend conducting water testing for 19 chemical parameters in our laboratory to accurately identify the quality issues of the supplied water and provide the best solution for your water treatment needs.
