Water quality problem
Iron and manganese in water can cause discolouration, turbidity and sediment. These problems may become more apparent when the water comes into contact with air. The water may develop a metallic taste, while deposits can stain sanitary fixtures and accumulate in pipework.
Solution
WATEX CMG14 is an iron and manganese removal filter that also reduces water turbidity and colour. The filter uses catalytic Greensand Plus media and quartz sand.
How the filter works
Greensand Plus promotes the oxidation of dissolved iron into particles that are retained in the filter media. Automatic rinsing removes accumulated impurities. Potassium permanganate (KMnO4) is used to regenerate the media and restore its ability to oxidise iron.
Automatic control
The electronic CLACK control valve manages rinsing and regeneration according to the configured programme. The unit has a flow meter, and the controller retains its settings during a power failure.
